Welcome to Science at Eggar's School
Eggar's School gained Specialist Status as a Specialist Science College in September 2004. Since then, the department has gone from strength to strength.
As a Specialist Science College, the department is equipped with modern practical equipment and offers a wide range of courses leading to GCSE and vocational BTEC National qualifications. All pupils experience a two year Key Stage 3 course (year 7 and 8). They start their three year GCSE courses at the beginning of year 9.
Eggar's Science Department has a suite of seven fully equipped laboratories staffed by seven full time science teachers and two laboratory technicians. In addition to the seven laboratories the department has an outdoor classroom, the Eco Centre, with seating for thirty pupils. Pupils have access to a wide range of ICT programmes and all laboratories are equipped with interactive whiteboards.
